A while back, you may remember a post about the death of Carole Lombard and it's effects on Jack Benny.
Jack cancelled his own participation in his show and basically the show was just music and those out-of-place Jell-o commercials.
But I just posted an article stating that Phil Harris used to date Miss Lombard. But we know from listening to the Jack Benny program right after Lombard's death that Phil was there with the band.
What am I saying? Just pointing out things is all.

The Nobody Show
When Carol Lombard died in a plane crash on January 16, 1942, Jack Benny was too broken up to do his show 2 days later.
The Jack Benny Show went on but only with Phil Harris and the band,the Sportsmen Quartet, Dennis Day vocals and Don Wilson introducing the band. Not to mention the way out of place, Jell-o commericals.
