The 1950 'flying disk' craze
The years right after WWII produced a number of UFO incidents which can be easily documented.
While some of the stories are somewhat ridiculous:
Other stories have an air of credibility to them:
The airwaves featured at least 2 comedies that dealt with the flying disk craze in 1950.
First, a flying disk/saucer lands in Fibber's yard on Fibber McGee and Molly
Next, Phil Harris learns what to do when he sees a disk.
