Go for something new

I know a guy who doesn't own a television set and hasn't for over 4 years. Even when he owned a TV set, he spent at least half of his free time listening to OTR.

His favorite show used to be Fibber McGee and Molly. Tastes change and he's moved on to something else. Not that he dislikes Fibber and Molly; but things change.

The whole aspect of WWII in radio is fun and exciting. My friend agrees with this. As a matter of fact, he's a huge WWII buff. He feels like OTR and WWII go together like cereal and milk. And you know, he's right.

However, he's found there's more to OTR than the years surrounding the war. Pre-war OTR is awesome too if you find the right show. Take the Knights of the Road (aka Gleason and Armstrong.) That's a great show that takes only takes about 10 minutes to listen to. It's different than the Amos & Andy's and Fibber & Molly's.... this is a serial. You don't have a studio audience. It's centered around two characters. And it's early 1930's. Not to mention that the sound is superb - better than most 1940's shows.

Hey, it's time for you to expand your horizons. It's time to break out of that Gunsmoke-only mindset of yours. My friend found there's more to life than Fibber McGee and Molly and Matt Dillon

Try something new!
