As for time spent on the Internet, I'll have to check some yellowing clip files, but I think the first articles I wrote about the Net were around 1989 in Soundings magazine, about Usenet, CompuServe, Prodigy and PC-based computer bulletin boards as a way for folks to communicate about, of all things, boats!
